Thank you to everyone who left such wonderful, supportive comments on my last post. It meant the world to me. I’m happy to report that my appointment went well, and I’m relieved that it’s behind me.
To celebrate, I got to meet J from Thinking About! J traveled quite a distance to join me and my husband at our hotel restaurant for dinner. I’m generally quite awkward when meeting people, but meeting J was as natural as meeting a good friend! I recognized her right away, and she’s exactly how I thought she’d be – an absolute delight! J is the first blogger I’ve met IRL, and she definitely set a good precedent! Aside from my good appointment, it was the highlight of my trip!
As usual, the weather in San Francisco was gorgeous. There were periods of fog, periods of sunshine, never too hot, never too cold – perfect! I slept better than I’ve slept in a long time.
The flight home was interesting. We were on the runway waiting for our turn when the plane pulled out of line. The pilot announced that we had to go back to the terminal because some passengers were being disruptive! We were sitting towards the front of the plane, and the disruptive people were at the back, so we didn’t hear or see anything. We went back to the terminal, and the people got off the plane peacefully. They were a family of four: a dad, a mom, a teen girl, and a tween boy. They were all tall, blonde, strikingly gorgeous people.
That added three extra hours to our flight, but I know it could have been worse. We were treated very nicely by the crew! We got snacks and beverages galore, including warm chocolate chip cookies!
It’s nice to be home! It’s still smoky from all the nearby forest fires, but the weather should be cooler for the next few days, and maybe we’ll even get some rain. That would be wonderful!
Thank you again for all the good vibes, virtual hugs, lovely comments, and texts. You are all awesome! J, it was wonderful to meet you!

It was so fun to come and see you and your husband! It wasn’t so very far for me to come, and so well worth the trip. Funny that we forgot to take pictures, but at least you have a picture of the pizza to remember it by. HA!
What a stressful trip this is, and how wonderful to have the release of stress once you get the all clear. I wonder what was up with that family on the airplane? What airline is it that has a Disney toon plane? I love Donald Duck.
Oh geez, a family was being disruptive and caused you to go back to the gate? What in the world. How embarrassing for the parents (I have to imagine it was the kids who were being disruptive?). It’s always frustrating to experience delays, plus it can be quite hot when you are sitting on the tarmac as they will turn off the engines sometimes.
But back to the positive part – how fun to meet up with Julie! So far every blogger I’ve met has been exactly who they are in their blog posts and it’s like meeting a dear friend since we know so much about each others’ lives! I am glad you enjoyed gorgeous weather in San Franscisco!!
I’m so glad your appointment went well and that you got to end the trip with such a fun experience! Meeting a fellow blogger in person sounds like the perfect way to celebrate, especially when you instantly click. And warm chocolate chip cookies on a delayed flight? I’d call that a pretty good consolation prize. 😊

Of course my number one happiness is that your appointment went well. I was thinking of you all morning and was delighted to get your update! My second happiness is that you got to meet Julie. What a perfect first meet-up *jealously gets in the car and drives ten hours to see you*
How crazy about that disruption! Especially because you couldn’t hear anything. Maybe there was some kind of shady drug deal/ illegal substance/ death threat/ who knows what. Also, how weird they all just got off calmly and peacefully. I would have died, in their place. DEAD. They’d have to haul my corpse off the plane after I died of embarrassment and shame for delaying a full plane!
The smoke cleared yesterday and there is a little in the air today, but it’s a respite and I’ll happily take it (I would also take rain, alas, I doubt we will get some)
