Happy August! I hope it’ll be a great month for you. Here are a few little random things I wanted to tell you about:
Elisabeth from The Optimistic Musings of a Pessimist blog is hosting a daily gratitude practice, “The Lightkeeper’s Log”, all month long. You can get her free printable worksheet here. In addition to the daily gratitude list, there’s a section for “Stormy Seas,” which I think is a great idea, because things aren’t always perfect, and it can be helpful to acknowledge them.

I have added a new page to my blog called Blogs I Love! I’ve listed the blogs I read regularly along with links to their newest posts. I hope it will all work as it should. If I forgot anyone’s blog, please let me know!

This month, my husband and I will be heading to San Francisco for my Annual Big Scary Eye Appointment. I get extremely nervous about eye appointments, ever since being diagnosed with ocular melanoma in 2021. I try to be rational, try telling myself it’s OK, telling myself that I can handle it, practicing meditation and breathing, and even taking medication. But honestly, I’m a mess, and it’s really traumatic for me. Thankfully, my husband will be there with me. He handles everything dealing with flights, hotels, and transportation- and all I have to do is follow along.

I’ve been enjoying drawing silly little photo doodles, so I put a few in this post. Drawing these is the perfect way to relax and take my mind off unpleasant things.
It also helps that I have something fun to look forward to towards the end of August! More on that later.
Wishing you a wonderful August!
