Smitty’s New Life!

Smitty was so happy living at Sarah’s house! He knew it was his job to always be by Sarah’s side. Sometimes, it got a little crowded! Sarah would smile and say, “You silly boy.”

There was a pond close to Sarah’s house. Smitty discovered that he loved going for a swim while Sarah waited on the shore.

A drawing of Smitty the Mutt swimming in a pond with water splashing everywhere.

Sarah took Smitty to a friend’s house, where a cat named Crouton lived. There was an unfortunate misunderstanding about a lamp, and Smitty had to go home.

Smitty always wanted to go for a walk, even when it was raining. Luckily, Sarah enjoyed walking in the rain, and they had some wonderful adventures.

So here’s where using a prompt list to write a story gets awkward! Where is the story going? Why didn’t I think to name the Kitty Smitty and the dog something else? Why do I draw Sarah with bare feet?

I’ll think about it and come back next week with the results! Please feel free to add your thoughts or ideas in the comments.

  1. Lovely sketches. Is it your first time drawing with pro create.
I have never had an iPad but last Friday I had to use an apple pen in my dentist office and it cam so natural. I really wondered if I would love being creative with an iPad. Procreate would be the main reason for me to get one.

    1. Thank you, Tobia! I’ve been using Procreate for several years, and I love it. I also love my iPad and Apple Pencil.

  2. Hi Michelle! I am sorry I have not been keeping up with your posts!! But Smitty’s story is just lovely! I can relate to the dog who wants to be in your lap… I have known a few big dogs who thought they were lap puppies! :):) And it my experience dog tails cause a lot of unintended trouble! It’s hard to be mad when the wag goes awry! And I am always calling my cat “Silly!” (He’s very shy and easy to spook…. so sometimes he “escapes” when there is no need at all! ) I am enjoying your doggust story! :):):)

    1. Thank you so much for reading my Doggust story, Betsy! I really appreciate it and your kind comments!

    1. I’m so clumsy too, Kari! I can relate as well. But…the cat may have had something to do with the whole thing!

    1. Thank you so much, Ally! I really appreciate your kind comment! I’m so happy it made you smile!

  3. Lovely pictures & a cute story (I like the name Crouton for the cat). I’d like to here more of Sarah & Smitty’s adventures.
