April started off with a fizzle, as “calving season” ended, and both my husband and I came down with colds. I was feeling a bit blue, sniffling beside my overflowing trash can of Kleenex, when I got a wonderful surprise in the mail from J at JellyJules.com – a DIY kit to make miniature paper plants!

I opened the package and found sheets of die-cut paper in green, brown, and tan. They were easy to pull apart and clearly labeled. I didn’t even need scissors!

The instructions mainly involved rolling the various papers until there was a plant, some dirt, and a pot.

I think the plants are adorable, and they’re the perfect size for the dollhouse!

The kit contained a Banana plant (on the floor, far left), a Chinese money plant (on the table), a Monstera (left, on the sideboard), a Curly Spider Plant (center on sideboard), and a Snake Plant (right, on sideboard).

These are the perfect plants for me – I don’t need to worry about watering them or trying to keep them alive!
You know that the dolls will look for any excuse to throw a party, and getting five new plants seemed like a perfect occasion for a celebration!

They had Teeny Tiny Tacos, strawberries, bananas, and fruity beverages.

T.G. had to stand on a pile of books in order to reach the straw!

Thank you for such a thoughtful gift, J!

OMG this is adorable! How thoughtful of Julie! And what a way to really spruce up the gnomes home! I have quite a black thumb for indoor plants so paper ones are the only kind that are safe under my care in most cases. I am keeping a jade and spider plant alive in my cubical at work – but only because my coworkers are good about watering them when I’m traveling!
Lisa, I’m the same – no plant is safe with me, except for a paper plant! 🤣 I love how these plants brightened up the dollhouse!
Oh yay! I’m so glad that they fit in the dollhouse, and I love that the gnomes had a party to celebrate. I love TG on his stack of books to reach the straw!
J, it was so thoughtful of you to send the plant kit, and everyone in the dollhouse is delighted! I love how much they brightened up the room. I had a great time making them!
Oh how wonderful!!!!! You are a perfect person to receive such a gift!!!
Daria, they are such a pretty addition to the dollhouse!
Dear Michelle, this is so Awesome!!! TG on his stack of books is so outrageously cute! I think your critters eat better than any of my Little People (and maybe even myself!) They seem to have an endless supply of wonderful choices… who wouldn’t want to party???!!! The kit for plants is so simple and effective and suddenly you have house full of greenery! What an amazing gift! The perfect solution for the “Spring where are you blues”! And if the plants didn’t cheer you up… well, there is TG trying to have his party beverage and needing a stack of books to reach it!!! :):):) Really, this is just too much!!! :):):) (I am sure I will be grinning in my dreams tonight! )
Betsy, the green plants really add a cozy touch to the room! The dolls do seem to have an endless supply of food choices. I can never resist buying tiny food for them! It’s inexpensive and takes up no space. And the tiny food just makes me so happy! 😁 The tacos look like they really have veggies in them!
AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
TINY PLANTSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS
Now the gnomes can be Crazy Plant…Dolls, I guess. I can’t really call them collectively Ladies, since I’m fairly sure the gnomes wouldn’t appreciate it. Crazy Plant Gnomes? But I am HERE for this amazing content. I’m also here for TG having to step onto a pile of books to have his festive beverage! I love the teeny tiny tacos and also am very happy to see them enjoying their vitamins via fruit!
Thank you for brightening up this wonderful Friday!!!
Is your cold better? I hope you’re on the mend!
Gnicole, the Crazy Plant Gnomes are busy thinking up names for the plants! Would it be too ridiculous if I drew faces on the pots? I don’t know…they look so elegant as they are. Yes, my cold is so much better. ♥️ Yay!
Dear Michelle…. (sorry Gnicole… I have to butt in here….) I think you HAVE to go put eyes on at least one of those plants now!!! Maybe even 3D googly eyes? It just wouldn’t be right if you didn’t! (Those Eye-deas don’t just disappear….!) :):):)
Betsy, I have lots of googly eyes! Yes, I will get them out and make a face on one of the plants – if not all!
What a wonderful thoughtful gift from Julie. And it’s so perfect. Like you always missed some plants. Reading about the party makes me very happy.
Thank you, Tobia! The plants were just what the dollhouse needed! I’m so glad it made you happy to see the party!
Those plants are absolutely PERFECT. I love the pop of green and also think that plants that can’t die sound awesome 🙂
What a sweet gesture from Julie, and I’m so glad they fit in the space.
And TJ on the books. TOO CUTE, Michelle.
Everything about this post is wonderful.
Awww, thank you so much, Elisabeth! ❤️
How wonderful! I especially love the curly spider plant, so fun!! Hope you’re feeling better!
Thank you so much, Maria! ❤️ I’m feeling better day by day!
Aw, this is so sweet. Julie is so thoughtful. Tiny plants. And they look so realistic and are the right size and everything. Love it. My mom had spider plants when I was a kid, so those are my fav. Sorry about your cold, but the end of calving season is a good thing – right? Hopefully you’ll bounce back from your cold in no time.
Ernie, it was such a thoughtful gift! My cold is nearly out of here!
Michelle, a person could just pass out from cuteness while looking at all the teensy details here! Makes me wish I hadn’t disposed of my miniature collection, a box full of tiny treasures carefully collected through my childhood for no reason other than to hold and admire them. No dollhouse, no stories, just precious little possessions.
Jana, I used to collect little animal figurines when I was a kid. I don’t seem to have them any more, which makes me sad.
What a great gift for the dollhouse! Those plants are just the perfect decorating touch. And I adore the food. The tiny tacos! The bananas! TG boosted up on the books to drink his fruity beverage! Those gnomes use any excuse for a party. 🤗
Dulcie, the gnomes do seem to love a party! I wonder what they’ll celebrate next?
I can’t wait to find out what they’ll celebrate next!
Those little plants are the absolute cutest thing!!! Perfect indeed for the dollhouse 😀
Rebecca, the plants are so perfect for the dollhouse! It’s making me want to try having a real plant again!
That is such a sweet and thoughtful gift! And I love that the dollhouse threw a party for their new plant friends! <3
Stephany, the dollhouse crew loves to throw parties, unlike me, who’ll never throw a party! 🤣
