What’s in My Advent Calendar – Day 16 to 24 – And Merry Christmas!

I’ve been showing what’s in each book-shaped drawer of the Kinda Kawaii Book Store Advent calendar that I got for myself this year. This is the first Advent calendar I’ve ever had, and it was so much fun!

Day 16: The title was Where Words Sleep. Inside was a teeny little notebook with a faux leather cover. It has a snap closure and a pretty beaded tassel.

I cannot even tell you how delighted I am with this gorgeous little notebook!

Day 17: The title was Threaded Margins. Inside was a cute bookshelf suncatcher. How sweet!

Day 18: The title was The Quiet Harvest. Inside were two card holders, one shaped like a strawberry and one shaped like a blueberry. Cute!

Day 19: The title was Wheels of Ages. Inside there were three rolls of washi tape shaped like wheels of cheese! AAAAAAAAH! I went nuts over these cute things! Won’t they be adorable in my dollhouse? I probably won’t open the washi tape because I want them to stay cheese wheels!

Day 20: The book title was La Maison Sucrée. Inside were two little notepads shaped like strawberry halves! Aren’t they sweet?

Little French Lesson: From a Google search, I found that La Maison Sucrée is French for “The Sweet House” or “The Sugared House,” referring to a place filled with delightful sweets and pastries, often used for patisseries, dessert caterers, or bakeries specializing in treats like cakes, macarons, and chocolates. 

Day 21: The title is Letters From the Past. Inside the box, there were two beautiful wax sticks, one teal, and one gold, and a letter sealing stamp with a tree shape.

Day 22: The title was Silver Whirls & Sugar Crumbs. Inside was another gorgeous notebook with a faux leather cover! This one has two signatures inside, so it’s thicker and more substantial. It came with a separate charm of a feather that I’ll need to attach.

Day 23: Wowza! The title was New Beginnings, and inside was a very fancy dip fountain pen! Five extra nibs were included. Can I use one of them in the previoius fountain pen that I broke? I’ll let you know!

Here we are at Day 24: Awwww, the last day! The present was in the attic, which is so charming with its wooden beams. The pencil case is beautiful with a substantial, smooth-operating zipper. I love it!

Well, I have to say this Advent calendar was really special! I enjoyed opening a little drawer each day, and I think most of the prizes were amazing!

I think it has spoiled me for all other Advent calendars though, so I don’t forsee buying another one next year.

Now there’s a book store next to my dollhouse! Aren’t the dolls so lucky that they can wander over to buy a book whenever they feel like it?

  1. This is, without a doubt, the “coolest” Advent calendar I’ve ever seen. And I love that you’ve already been able to incorporate items from the calendar into the dollhouse.
    What a delight. Thanks so much for sharing pictures of each of your daily presents, too. I’ve enjoyed these posts so much!

    1. Thank you so much, Elisabeth! I don’t think this Advent calendar can be topped, so I’ll reuse it for years to come. Maybe I should fill the drawers with little things now so they’ll be surprises next year!

  2. That is the most amazing (but maybe the only) one I’ve ever seen. Did you say where you found it or how much it cost? I’ve loved seeing these posts, enjoying the clever and cute without having to actually own it.

    1. Jana, it’s from a company called Kinda Kawaii. They found me on Facebook. It was too expensive, but in the end, I got so much enjoyment from it, I feel like it was worth it. ($130) Especially since I can use the Book Store over and over again.

    I think this was a very ingenious advent calendar! And to top it off, so many lovely pictures for us of your Gnomes and the Dollhouse Celebration! Merry Christmas to you and all your little friends! :):):)

    1. Betsy, I’m all set to write an old-fashioned letter, aren’t I? I can write with the quill and seal it up with the wax. I’ll feel very Jane Austen!

  5. That was so much fun and very worth getting! What cute gifts you got and now you have a book store to go with the dollhouse. I loved the little notebooks and the sealing wax and, well, I guess I just loved everything. Merry Christmas Michelle!

    That advent calendar was such a treat and I totally get that you will not get one next year. I mean seriously how can you ever top that one. So many cut things. Even though a few things were reoccurring.

  8. This is amazing! My favorite is probably the washi tape shaped like cheese! What a collection of delights! It would be hard to top this so it’s probably good to not try to! Thanks for sharing so we could live vicariously through you!!

    1. Thank you, Lisa! I love the cheese-shaped washi tape. I did open up one roll out of curiosity, and it’s very cute. The dolls can have the other two cheese wheels. I’m happy you enjoyed seeing all the little treasures!

    1. Thank you, Suzanne! I’m glad you enjoyed the show & tell! There were so many wonderful things in this calendar, and I just found out that these kinds of items are part of a trend for 2026 called “Poetcore.” How fun is that?!
