I’ve had a bit of blogger’s block. But I’ve been having fun drawing, sewing, and playing, so I’ll get back into my blog by telling you all about that!
Drawing:
I decided to start participating in the Spoonflower fabric design challenges again. This week’s theme is “Crustacean Core.” I made this design of Hermit Crabs called “Tossed Hermits.” Here are some mock-ups. I love mock-ups! It’s so fun to see the possibilities of my designs. Flip flops? Yes! Tote bag, beach towel, or drink tumbler? Yes!
Bathing suit – definitely NO! I’m not sure how I feel about Hermit Crabs. They’re kind of cool, but also creepy! And they certainly don’t belong on a bathing suit!
Sewing:
I made this fun scene with fabric and stitches! The fabrics are from the cabinet my mom gave to me for Christmas.
Playing:
We celebrated the Purple Gnome’s birthday at the dollhouse! We had cake and brownies, and of course, orange pop, and everyone had a great time, especially me!
Did you do anything fun lately? What are your feelings about Hermit Crabs? Thanks for reading, and I wish you all the best!
THE GNOME BIRTHDAY PARTY MICHELLLLLLLLLLLLLLLEEEEE
I’m so glad to see this update from you! I love everything you put out there in the world, and this was a perfect post to start my week back at home!
You made the right call. No one wants crabs in their swimsuit. No one!!!
Thank you so much, Nicole! 😊 I’m smiling from this lovely comment!
Too cute!
Did you do anything fun lately? What are your feelings about Hermit Crabs?
My most recent fun has been playing cribbage with my husband while we sit outside on the deck in sunshine with an adult beverage at hand. So nice to be outside. I like Hermit Crabs.
Thanks Ally! I think your fun time sounds wonderful! I think I need to meet a Hermit Crab in real life!
Michelle, I was thinking about you and wondering how you are doing. How are you feeling?
I love the pattern, especially on flip flops.
Have I done anything fun lately?… Not really, no. I went to the Korean spa for the day last Sunday, roasted in their sauna, got a massage. I need more fun in my life.
Thank you, Daria! You’re so kind! My emotions are still a bit up and down, but I’m mostly feeling good. Your spa day sounds lovely! I enjoyed reading your guest post on Elisabeth’s blog! It was fun to learn more about you and see your wonderful pictures!
This is so fun. Love those mock-up as they give a real feel to it. Agree with the NO for the bathing suite. Too weird. I think I am partial on hermit craps… mainly because I think I have never come a cross one besides Ariel?!
Also that sewing piece is amazing. Instantly reminded me of my mom who sewn lots of clothes for us as kids and she each made us a coat with applications like this. My sister got a train on the back. I am not sure what mine was… I think flowers. She also sewed our school enrollment outfits including matching candy cones.
Thank you, Tobia! I appreciate your kind words! How lovely that your mom sewed for you and your sister. My mom sewed most of my clothes when I was a kid, and I loved them all. I think designing prints for bathing suits is an art form of its own – there are so many cringy things that can happen! 🤣
We had a hermit crab when I was a teenager. It was cool, actually. But we didn’t have the right size shell for it – one was too small and the other was just a bit too big – so it kept switching from one shell to another and one day the switching was just too much for it, I think.
I’m taking a bit of a blogging break myself and I’m actually really struggling to come up with topics to write about. Hopefully I’ll snap out of this blogging funk soon!
Engie, how interesting about your hermit crab! Now I feel sorry for them, always in search of the perfect shell. I hope your blogging break will help you feel refreshed. ❤️ Virtual hugs to you!
I love the hermit crabs on a print, but in person I’m not sure. 🤣
I’m sorry you have blogger’s block, but I was really glad to see your post in my feed. 😘
Thank you so much, Kari! You’ve encouraged me to keep writing! ❤️ I saw a video of hermit crabs scurrying about, and it made me shudder!
