Pantone is a company that specializes in color. They offer color standards, tools, and services for artists, graphic designers, fashion designers, interior decorators, and more. Every year, they choose a “Color of the Year,” which is surrounded by lots of hype and excitement. As an artist, I love new, fresh colors and color palettes. I think every color has its place and use, and I love using current and past color trends in my art.
From what I’ve seen, there are very mixed reactions to this color. Many people have said that the name Peach Fuzz inspires unpleasant thoughts of facial hair or peach emojis! That makes me laugh!
But Pantone calls it “a heartfelt peach hue bringing a feeling of kindness and tenderness, communicating a message of caring and sharing, community and collaboration. A warm and cozy shade highlighting our desire for togetherness with others or for enjoying a moment of stillness and the feeling of sanctuary this creates.”
Wow, that’s a lot to expect from a color! This video shows a bunch of examples of using Peach Fuzz in home decor, as well as a very satisfying mixing of Peach Fuzz using frosting! (I think it’s frosting?)
To me, Peach Fuzz is a lovely color. I wouldn’t want a whole room painted with it, but it’s a nice color to add some warmth and cheer. It reminds me of the 1990s, which was a very happy time in my life. I wore a peach bridesmaid dress to a dear friend’s wedding. I was newly married, and our house had wallpaper with subtle peach and light green speckles. (And it still does!) I feel like the color is calming and happy, not too bright, yet not too dull.
Pantone has collaborated with Spoonflower for a fabric design contest. Pantone provided a color palette that must be used called the “Peach Plethora” palette.
What do you think of Peach Fuzz as Color of the Year? I’d love to know your thoughts, and it’s fine if you don’t love it! In fact, if you don’t love it, I made this lovely bottle of Peach Fuzz Remover!
I love the colour (though not to wear; like Nicole I think I’d look very washed out and corpse-like). It’s subtle and romantic, though, and I think as an accent colour in a bathroom wallpaper it would be divine.
I also don’t like the name. Peach Champagne maybe? Would feel festive and light. Peach fuzz 100% reminds me of unwanted hair – hahaha.
Yes, I agree that the name isn’t great! And the color is sweet, especially as an accent.
I think it’s so pretty! I mean, I could never wear it, I would look like a corpse, but I think it’s just lovely!
Ha! Ha! I don’t look good in it either, especially now – but this Barbie pulls it off pretty well!
You’d be the most beautiful walking corpse in the history of humanity, though…
I think Nicole would look great in any color!
I love that peach is making a comeback! It feels like the 80s in here. ❤️
Colors always seem to come back around! It’s so fun! I’m especially fond of the light turquoise from the 1950s. I just got a toaster in that color!
Wow, I had no idea a colour had so much potential! I like it, like you Michelle I think it’s warm and comforting. Don’t think I’d want to paint a room in it but a few cushions, a throw, some candles or a vase in that colour would really brighten up a room. Barbie’s rocking the peach fuzz effortlessly, does that dress come in my size I wonder?
I know what you mean, a little bit of peach here and there would be lovely. Too much peach would be overwhelming!
