Wash Away Your Troubles with some Bubbles

I moved on to decorating the next room in my dollhouse – the bathroom. And it really is a BATH room because it only has a big bathtub in it!

I’ve had this ceramic bathtub for years, using it to store little items in my bathroom. I think it’s a fabulous focal point in the dollhouse bathroom, taking up the entire room, so I don’t need to add much else.

The only other thing I added was this tree that I made from pipe cleaners I found in my crafting stash. I knew I’d have a good use for them one day!

The “tile” is some wallpaper that I designed and printed at Spoonflower. I also designed the blue-green pebbled wallpaper but printed it onto sticker paper that I’ve had lying around.

I used Styrofoam balls for the bubbles in the bath. (Again, already in my stash!) I made the little bear several years ago.

I made the rubber duckies with polymer clay. This was my first attempt at sculpting with clay, and I wasn’t very good at it – but wow, it was fun!

Wishing you a great week!

  1. I absolutely Love it when those “odd” items we have held onto for ages suddenly find their true Home! The Bath is fabulous! And the duckies are awesome for a first ever sculpey attempt! I love your bold wallpaper designs… don’t have the printer tech savvy myself…. I tend to hand paint everything in minute detail instead! (That’s how old fashioned I am!) The freedom to use any scale you want is a wonderful feeling and this shelf is perfect for that! I can’t wait to see more!

    1. Thank you so much, Betsy! I think your hand-painted details are amazing and make your miniature creations extra special. I agree that it is the best feeling to find a use for something I’ve had hidden away – and that I remembered where I had it hidden!

  2. Absolutely adorable room, Michelle! I love the wallpaper and the tiles, the Teddy, duckies and the tub! What creative use for Styrofoam balls, too! Wouldn’t life be much nicer if, like our fabric/clay friends, we didn’t have use for “facilities”? Bathrooms would be meant exclusively for fun bathing!

I have a tutorial to make a super easy 1/12th scale bath pouf – I think you’d have fun with it!

    1. Thank you, Jodi, for your lovely comment! My bear definitely needs a little bath pouf – that is adorable! Thank you for linking the tutorial. Maybe I should make a big one for myself too!

  3. I don’t know how it’s possible that each room you do gets more and more adorable, but IT IS. The tiny rubber duckies really push it over the top for me! And the sign and little tree. Eeeee. This is the cutest little bathroom (BATHroom) in the world!

    1. Thank you so much, Nicole! I appreciate your sweet comment so much, especially the Eeeee! That makes my day!

  4. Wow Michelle! This bathroom is so cute, but the bear and the rubber duckies really make it special. I can’t help but smile when looking at these pictures!
